Missions at SCBC

Before His ascension, Jesus gave His followers one final command: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)
At SCBC, our desire is to be a church that goes — faithfully taking the Gospel to our local community, our nation, and the ends of the earth.
In Acts 1:8, Jesus provides the model for this mission: to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Local Missions 

Our first mission field is right here in our community.
We seek to reach local English speakers in and around Songtan with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism in the Songtan Entertainment District, local outreach events, and ministries like Vacation Bible School. Our goal is to proclaim Christ faithfully where God has placed us.

Regional Missions 

Second, we desire to see the Gospel advance throughout Korea and across our region.
Through Gospel partnerships with missionaries and local churches, we work and pray toward a movement of disciples who make disciples — so that many in Korea would come to know and follow Christ.

Global Missions: To the Ends of the Earth

Finally, we participate in taking the Gospel to the nations.
We support the Korea Baptist Convention as it carries out Gospel work across Korea and beyond, and we partner with the Southern Baptist Convention through the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB) to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ both in the United States and around the world.
