For Christ & His Kingdom!

Thank you for visiting our website. The mission of Songtan Central Baptist Church’s English Ministry is to worship and glorify our God, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to build mature believers who are equipped to serve Christ in the church and in the world. We strive as a congregation to be a Christ-centered body that is loving, nurturing, supportive, and grounded in the truth of God’s Word, the Bible.

Our English congregation is part of a broader Korean church in the Songtan area of Pyeongtaek City. Though we are distinct in culture and personality, it is truly wonderful to be joined with our Korean brethren in love and service to Christ. I believe God has blessed us with unity and common purpose to be a testimony of His Sovereignty over all languages and people groups.

Perhaps you are an American serviceperson looking for a church home while stationed abroad. Perhaps you are a civilian worker from Europe, Southeast Asia, or the Pacific Islands looking for a community of believers. You may be a Korean exploring the person of Jesus. Wherever you are from, at SCBC, you will not find us targeting a certain group for church membership. Here you will find that we strive to proclaim Christ to all and extend His love to all. All people matter to God. At the same time, we want you to know that God matters most. This is the heartbeat of our congregation: to glorify God alone. In the end, this is why our church exists. This is why we do all the things that we do as a church community: to God’s glory and His alone. As Romans 11:36 proclaims:

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.”

If you have any questions about our church, please do not hesitate to contact us. If you want to talk to someone about where you are spiritually or even what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, we would gladly welcome the opportunity to speak with you. It is our sincere prayer that today finds you cherishing Christ, connecting in Christ, and changing for Christ. God bless you!

Yours warmly in the service of Christ,
Rev. Nelson Chapman
